Crystal Symphony
Last week saw the conclusion of the refit project carried out by Gerolamo Scorza on the Crystal Symphony, a luxury cruise ship belonging to Crystal Cruises. The vessel was in dry dock in Genoa from 1st to 25th November 2025 at Dock 5 of the San Giorgio del Porto S.p.A. shipyard, part of the Genova Industrie Navali S.p.A. Group.
Spanning over 1,000 sqm, the project involved various areas of the ship with the aim of renewing its image, improving functionality, and enhancing the guest experience.
In the new Atrium, Scorza completely redesigned the central space, rebuilding the ceiling with a modern LED lighting system, renovating the flooring, walls, columns, and decorative features, and introducing new bespoke furnishings, including the reception, bar, desk, and piano area.
The Atrium’s public restrooms underwent a complete refit, featuring large Kerlite slab cladding, new flooring, fully replaced partitions, and new vanity units.
In the Avenue of the Stars Boutique on Deck 6, the flooring was renewed, the suspended ceiling overhauled, and the lighting replaced, alongside targeted work on the existing columns.
The Umi Uma restaurant, one of the most iconic in the Crystal fleet, saw a total transformation of its entrance, with the removal of the previous scenic feature and the creation of a contemporary, elegant space inspired by Oriental motifs.
Furthermore, Gerolamo Scorza renovated the ceilings and lighting of the lobby staircases between Deck 5 and Deck 6, and updated all lift fronts from Deck 4 to Deck 12, adding new decorative brass profiles and gold-coloured ornamental bands.
This project confirms Gerolamo Scorza's ability to manage complex interventions, guaranteeing high-quality workmanship, attention to detail, and a high level of operational coordination.
